If you can’t
figure out what
you want then
figure out what
you don’t deciding
on what to
cut is always
easier than what
to plant for
growth happens without
any thought given
hone and whittle
and let come
what ever may
Thread
There’s a thread
that’s delicately woven
through each and
every thing that
ties but never
binds one to
the next together
no not objects
but progress it’s
a golden thread
unseen by many
until that is
it catches light
starting to glisten
the thread is
called trusting in
that we don’t
always know better
Loss
One frequently
sees loss
as the
end of
something cherished
but loss
is also
the beginning
of something
treasured to
be found
stand in
that space
between the
two and
wonder for
a moment
where next
now that
Started
There is something
about getting started
after having done
that tickles me
opening up home
in the morning
turning on heat
starting the kettle
opening the blinds
the little things
say to me
welcome to another
most beautiful day
S’more
I imagine that
this is what
a marshmallow sees
some moments before
as I sit
in blood orange
late dusk sun
before it dips
behind the mountains
and the marshmallow
meets its doom
in the middle
of some s’more
