always tell you 
when I wrote 
about you but 
now I know 
that what I 
had thought then
as a gift
became just another 
one of those 
quickly put away
deep in the 
closet and out 
of sight forgotten 
so now though 
I still do 
I don’t say
hoping that maybe 
you’ll read them 
maybe remember them 
perhaps like them
never ever knowing 
they are you 
but I do
