What I know
that I don’t
need now or
likely ever did
in my life
are the deserters
those who embolden
and embrace anarchy
be it righteous
or the pursuit
of one’s happiness
despite the odds
and when the
first volley fired
turn and run
the opposite direction
I will stand
stay and fight
bringing my ideas
to light and
life or death
Author: Harlan Didrickson
I first started writing this blog as a way to refocus my thinking after a debilitating mental breakdown in 2008. Having been educated in writing, I had hoped that my love for words would have left a trail for me to follow and, well, here we are.
Treasure
Some treasure troves
are never found
they remain buried
where they’re left
hidden away in
some distant cave
or beneath sand
or in the
chests of those
who carry them
Bath
The sun awoke
before me today
bathed and dressed
and already shining
I found him
pooling on the
porch my cold
feet quickly warming
as I splashed
Brush
A brush
a breeze
an almost
kinda sorta
sitting here
and wondering
like a
car in
a ditch
dazed and
amazed thinking
did I
avoid fate
or destiny
and will
if ever
either might
come again
Titles
Titles are just
pet names for
those poems that
that we are
most fond of
how can one
reduce affection to
a simple name
boo bean or
sweet sweet pea
come to mind
when I think
of titling loves
of my life
