I wish that I could promise you forever but most of my forever is in my rear view mirror. But this I can promise you: What’s left of my forever is going to be magnificent. You can either wish that you had been or climb on board to see what is yet to come. It’s going to be marvelous.

I first started writing this blog as a way to refocus my thinking after a debilitating mental breakdown in 2008. Having been educated in writing, I had hoped that my love for words would have left a trail for me to follow and, well, here we are.
PotatoSalad
I ache I yearn
but I also remember
and maybe it’s too
soon because the remembering
still casts long shadows
on what I desire
It’s like that time
that I craved potato
salad so much so
that I ate bowl
after bowl type after
type helping after helping
And now I can’t
stand even looking at
potato salad without wretching
So when I look
at you I don’t
see you I’m sorry
but I don’t all
I still see is
potato salad just more
and more potato salad
Before
Before before I wanted
to remember every nook
and cranny of my
then life I kept
memorizing memories like a
teenage girl remembering love
notes thinking that maybe
if I keep them
and recall them and
sigh about them then
maybe they will stay
but now with this
before this before after
the first before and
before this new now
came a firestorm which
scorched everything and those
precious fantasies of before
before turned into the
wasteland of now before
and now this new
now from the ashes
of everything gone before
and before before’s comes
hope and experience and
no longer expectation for
expectation burned before beforehand
Locket
There are some that
I like and some
that I love and
some that I hold
and some that I
avoid and some that
I deny and some
that I dream and
some that I touch
and then there are
some that I kiss
and it always seems
that those that I
kiss remain the longest
not necessarily next to
me but here in
me for a kiss
my kiss is like
a note in a
bottle or a message
tied to a balloon
for a kiss to
me is like unlocking
my own hearts locket
Sunrise
I always sneak away
quietly like a cat
conscious to not disturb
you there sleeping slithering
like a snake belly
down so as not
to awaken you lumbering
across cold floors like
the last drunk in
the bar to start
the coffee when I
hear you move and
call knowing that you’re
wondering and then knowing
what is coming next
your smile and kiss
are sunrise to me
