Even now this early
as the sky lightens
ever so slowly from
black to slightly blue
like I am a
whale rising from the
deep that blue that
painful bruise blue happens
for just a minute
until that blue becomes
a different blue and
then that turns to
something else just like
my morning kiss with
you starts one place
and always ends another
Author: Harlan Didrickson
I first started writing this blog as a way to refocus my thinking after a debilitating mental breakdown in 2008. Having been educated in writing, I had hoped that my love for words would have left a trail for me to follow and, well, here we are.
Prayer
Lord if I die
tonight I will die
knowing that I did
my best with what
you have given me
and that I have
loved and never not
loved those needing it
and those who offered
theirs to me and
if I should leave
tonight that they too
will come with me
here in my heart
and I will remain
there in theirs too
ParisRain
The wet streets and
cars splashing sounds reminds
me of the early
morning when I left
my Parisian lover in
bed to make my
way back home it’s
cold this rain but
not as cold as
then knowing that I’d
forgotten him there already
LightningHorn
Now I understand that
lighting is like a
horn alerting drivers of
danger as I once
sat mesmerized and now
sit angry and wet
IWonderIf
I wonder if lightning
is like yawns contagious
or like laughter infectious
I wonder if lightning
is like applause rippling
or like firecrackers popping
I wonder if lightning
is anything at all
once there now gone
