I first started writing this blog as a way to refocus my thinking after a debilitating mental breakdown in 2008. Having been educated in writing, I had hoped that my love for words would have left a trail for me to follow and, well, here we are.

You can only love
When you yourself are
Ready to love get
Your life in order
Be your best self
Shine and never tempt
With loneliness and desperation
For those two negativities
Will only attract others
Who so swim in
Them but rather be
Like a clear cool
Pond offering yourself to
Others that can swim

My three favorite words
Are I did it
I see life not
As an obstacle course
Designed not to give
But as an adventure
One of promise and
Of dreams and hope
Life is a marvelous
Thing to be enjoyed
And not merely survived
And the cornerstone of
Life is accepting that
Whatever I have no
Matter how little is
Always enough no matter
What the naysayers think
Lemmings
Oh if the world
Only understood but I
Have grown hoarse shouting
Even generals and gurus
Grow silent after awhile
The world runs amuck
Rooting and rutting ruining
At some point even
Those leading or cautioning
Retreat knowing that many
If not all will
Run off the cliff
NoMoreTinSoldiers
Now on the cusp
Of realizing my dreams
I find that I
Don’t and never did
Ever need anyone else
Oh I do suppose
That I like others
Did once believe that
Only because others did
Many others in fact
That we all marched
Kept in tidy formation
Like little tin soldiers
Until at some point
We understood that dreams
Are personal and only
Belong to those brave
Enough to cast them
I have now found
Just as much joy
Fishing in a pond
Absent of any fish
Then in a pond
Chock full for it’s
Not what is caught
But the simple joy
In knowing you do
