Now on the cusp
Of realizing my dreams
I find that I
Don’t and never did
Ever need anyone else
Oh I do suppose
That I like others
Did once believe that
Only because others did
Many others in fact
That we all marched
Kept in tidy formation
Like little tin soldiers
Until at some point
We understood that dreams
Are personal and only
Belong to those brave
Enough to cast them
I have now found
Just as much joy
Fishing in a pond
Absent of any fish
Then in a pond
Chock full for it’s
Not what is caught
But the simple joy
In knowing you do
