HappyBirthdayJadon

It was this day
Only twenty-one years ago
That our world was
Blessed by you it
Had absolutely no idea
What it was missing
Until you showed us
You my dear boy
Are just simply lovely
Like that one sunflower
In a peonies sea
That one taller than
All flowers whose head
Is always tilted upwards
And like the sun
Rooted to the earth
Your smile warms and
Welcomes and follows east
To west oh my
But you are a
Treasure on a beach
Happiest of Birthdays Jadon
On behalf of all
Of us may these
Wishes bring you joy

ThereThere

When I can’t write
I also can’t love
When my mind’s divorced
So is my heart
The two are entwined
Like vines rooted separately
But wound around the
Same tree on their
Way to the sun
Neither one getting there
First or ever last
Just always getting there

Beauty

Come come here look
I say pulling you
Up the hill to
The top see do
You see don’t you
See I don’t see
I don’t see why
And I don’t see
what whatever you see
And so goes beauty

JustOne

If I write but
One poem a day
Even though my mind
Wants more is that
Not the same as
Giving but one kiss
To a lover who
Desperately desires many more

Floating

And now finally emerging
Like a cattail seed
From its pod the
Wind which previously shook
And now carries being
Dropped and lifted and
Almost like flying and
Then floating and landing
Rolling and tumbling and
Spinning until one catches
On something and now
That something is home
This is I think
What love is like
Nothing more and nothing
Less significant or important
Just one thing and
Then eventually something else
