Gosh

Gosh you’re beautiful to
Me most mornings I
Think that I’m waking
Up in the studio
Of Michelangelo or Rodin
On some divan staring
At his latest model
I run my hand
Across your obsidian flank
Tracing like a child
Staying within the lines
Over and down like
A sled filled with
Curiosity only to land
Amidst the trees of
Eyelashes which shake and
Drop their own sleepiness
Finally lips meeting mine
Tasting the cool crispness
Of my Alpine stream

HowIKnow

How I know that
I do love you
I see me in
You in your eyes
And in your smile
I see me in
How you look at
Me I worry about
You knowing that you
Are worrying about me
I think about you
When I’m not thinking
About anything else I
Wonder about you where
And when and if
How do I know
That I love you
Because it’s all that
I have ever known
Ever truly ever known

HollowMelody

What is it about
Soft morning jazz that
Plucks at my heart
Like a harp maybe
It’s because when last
I heard this you
Were here and now
Well you are not
And what was before
Our soundtrack is now
But a hollow melody

NeverYet

It’s sadness I think
This cramp I’m feeling
Not due to loss
But having never yet
I’ve stumbled into sludge
And my pace slowed
I won’t make it
There by night fall
But rather shelter here
Beneath the arms of
Some leafy green trees
Strangers at first but
As the last bit
Of sun melts and
The darkness surrounds me
It’s best that I
Call this place home

Gibberish

When I think
I think thinking
That what I
Thought can’t be
Suddenly something else
Or else it’s
Else’s else elsewhere
Comes to mind
Minding my mindfulness
Off we go
Going to another
And another and
Then yet another
Until at once
again at once
At once immediately
I’m back here
Thinking I think
Or maybe not
