Of my life saying
Goodbye to all this

For what is surely

We all have that

That is ultimately important
It’s that you take
The first tentative step
The unknown is scary
For if it weren’t
Then it’d be known
When I listen to
Satie and to Chopin
I hear snow fall
And I am reminded
How much I miss
Watching it slowly dance
And gather and pile
It reminds me of
Life and of love
Coming in quietly at
First delicate and pure
And the next day
Everything is so bright
That even dogs squint
But as days pass
What was once white
Dirties and tossed aside
No longer a miracle
That’s why I’m going
To the mountains it’s
Closer to Heaven there
When people don’t care
It’s hard to care
Back the heart is
Like a pond it
Gets covered in ice
As still water does
Yet beneath the hardness
Fish swim about freely
Like hopes and dreams
Either loves sun melts
Or compassionate friends crack
The same thing happens
The shadow life warms
It’s really this simple
Accept things as is
Interact with them powerfully
Understand all your choices
Decide upon your wishes
Eventually even your forests
Will be free from
Dead wood and overgrowth
Turning into a prairie
And filled with flowers
