Wisdom speaks into the
mystery that I am
It knows exactly what
I will one day
so when Wisdom said
that there’s no one
for me to love
it simply meant that
I must learn to
love myself in aloneness
learning to be happy
absent the happiness that
someone else gives me
Wisdom said that love
isn’t meant to fill
but rather to find
a cup that is
already filled adding more
and making it overflow
love is then abundance
for an empty cup
can never be filled

in Denver today
won’t be above

There are two cars
which always arrive separately
one then the other
into the dark parking
lot next to me
one driver gets out
and climbs into the
other for an hour
doing I imagine that
very same thing with
clandestine driver number two
