It’s not important
How we love
Each other or
When we love
Each other or
Even why we
Love each other
What is important
Is that we
Love each other
It’s not important
How we love
Each other or
When we love
Each other or
Even why we
Love each other
What is important
Is that we
Love each other
Like the fall
That slipped
Into the winter
You and I
Suffered our first
Hard freeze frost
We were surprised
Having to build
Fires and make
Shanty’s around what
We once were
This winter would
Either bring us
Closer or force
Us to leave
Each other surviving
But we knew
That our warmth
Was doubled together
Now I know
How small an
Inch feels having
Been reduced to
That upon hearing
About you and
Him and him
And him and
Him and him
And with each
Him and him
What was left
Of me was
Pummeled into a
One inch piece
Of scrap metal
Of no value
Even to me
Yet every time
Every single time
Every time that
I think that I’m
Over you I’m
Reminded that I’m
Not I never
Will be over
One tiny thing
Brings back all
The other things
I hate this
I hate it
I wish that
I hated you
But I don’t
I never will
Oh I know
That you are
You are well
Past over me
I’m the one
Passed over on
Your way to
Being well well
Past over me
Sometimes in life
I set fire
To those things
Close to me
Not to watch
Them burn but
Rather to see
Which are strongest
This includes friends
Two nights ago
I ignited a
Firestorm call it
A controlled burn
Which laid waste
To almost everyone
In my path
For one reason
To give light
To new friends
And reduce others
To simple ash
Promoting new growth
