I set fire

To those things

Close to me

Not to watch

Them burn but

Rather to see

Which are strongest

This includes friends

Two nights ago

I ignited a

Firestorm call it

A controlled burn

Which laid waste

To almost everyone

In my path

For one reason

To give light

To new friends

And reduce others

To simple ash

Promoting new growth
