NightRain

The rain came

At night like

Dripping ghouls and

Goblins saturating everything

In a moist

Blanket some falling

Still I wait

Patiently like a

Bumblebee for the

First shaft of

The drying sunshine

OverAgain

Friends and lovers

Have shed like

The peeling of

Paint from weathered

Prairie barns fallen

The leaves of

Autumn or the

Coats of dogs

All gone now

I stare at

New beginnings like

Squinting at the

Sun after dark

Clouds passed by

Bond

Disappointed I am

By men that

Promised then canceled

I’m a man

In a world of

Boys I keep

My word while

They use it

Like a toy

Done I am

Until they all

Grow up and

Understand that your

Word is bond

BeYou

I have found

That in life

Being you the

You that you

Were meant to

Be is less

Scary than being

What you’re not

Celebrate you every

Day because it’s

Your uniqueness that

God breathed into

Your soul on

The special day

You were born

Treehouse

Alone at last

Now attractive like

The litters runt

People want me

But I’m hidden

Like a tide

Pool crab under

An outcrop of

Rock alone again

And private like

A child retreating

To his treehouse
