I met a giant
someone who I’d naturally
avoid like brussel sprouts
when at first spied
having I suppose before
tasted and disliked and
therefore learned to dodge
But this giant was
different he sauntered over
and calmly sat down
and talked about life
and love and intimacy
he indeed waxed poetic
and I sat mesmerized
This giant taught me
an age old lesson
Run towards your fears
and never away for
this giant admitted that
he too feared me

MyPlank (to my lovers)
The notes of DeBussy
take me in one
direction and the coffee
in another while you
still sleep next to
me your breathing reminding
me that I’m alive
even as I write
for both the music
and all the coffee
lifts me far beyond
this bed overlooking mountains
and somewhere else beyond
you there my plank
sleeping going somewhere else
on your dreams adventure
ikr
I have lost everything
so often that I
am now convinced that
I’ve never had anything
And with every failure
and with every loss
of everything had before
the only constant thing
has ever been me
Perhaps I’m the cause
perhaps I’m the reason
definitely I’m to blame
but with every failure
I am confidently one
more step to getting
whatever it is right
There
I do know what
is on the other
side having already been
The other side of
here is there and
once there that there
becomes the new here
and so and so
we go always looking
over there but never
finding it because once
there then there moves
back to where there
there and not here
Somewhere
I am far away
sitting somewhere maybe a
bench on a beach
and my thoughts play
about me like children
on their own sometimes
sometimes running to me
showing me new treasures
or seashells or glass
and maybe one or
two of the older
ones rest a bit
next to me quietly
sighing deeply breathing in
salty air sometimes sad
sometimes happy sometimes just
there me and my
thoughts just sitting there
on a bench on
a beach somewhere there
