Funny thing love 
sometimes a worm
maybe a snake 
once or twice 
a pair of
fuzzy slippers and 
old pair of
shoes long ago 
broken in tattered
but so comfortable 
me I’m naked 
now and barefoot 
puttering around like 
a child in 
the wood amazed
at the things 
long ago forgotten 

I have found 
my happiness in
a strange place 
alone a peace 
there too no 
looking no seeking 
just sigh after 
sigh and humming 
it was once 
said that a
happy man hums 
hum with me 
happy with me 
here with me 

No matter how 
no matter when 
or where or
if or why
I always end 
up in precisely 
the exact place 
that I’ve always 
meant to be 
such is the 
serendipity of life 
and the serenity 
of it all 

I circus animal 
or horse leaping 
through hoops and 
over obstacles meant 
to deter or
trip I have 
learned that the 
best way is 
around for things 
meant to dissuade 
and desolve resolve 
have always been 
and have too
swallowed many others 
me I will 
find the other 
side to each
