The early morning starts
with windows of far
off downtown buildings drowsily 
blinking like your eyes 
do upon rolling over 
seeing me smiling at
you as you inch
closer to me reaching 
for my coffee cup 
ignoring me completely as
I quickly snap shut
my arms around you 
like vines of Ivy 
trapping you in dawns
