FortuneCookie

I do remember once 
anticipating life and love 
with the same fervor 
that I would crack
open a fortune cookie 
hoping for insight and 
wisdom and some hope 
but as life has 
taught me both people 
and fortune cookies lie
or at the very 
least taunt coaxing us
to believe that anything 
is possible when really 
possible is but a
carrot leading us along
