Radio

There simply is too 
much static noise now 
on my broken radio 
I hear nothing but 
noise noise I suppose 
like breadcrumbs promising something 
better yet to find 
but there are too
few stations upon which 
to listen and far too 
much noise where did 
the music go where 
did the melodies run 
All I ever hear 
now are scratchy sounds 
problems and dissonance and 
diarrhea spewing from unfamiliar 
mouths maybe it’s time 
to just switch off 
this old contraption and 
instead listen to nature 
the wind in the 
trees and the silence 
that the stars promise
