There’s a thing 
that often happens 
well I think 
that it does 
well it has 
to me now 
once you’ve crawled 
back or away 
from whatever bottom 
that you have 
you first survive 
and you regain 
the simple things 
strength and courage 
once you’ve leapt 
from the iceberg 
and onto land 
feet under you 
what comes next 
is quite surprising 
it’s called comfort 
and followed by 
freedom to express 
those simple things
