And now sitting 
here I realize
why I haven’t 
met anyone here 
yet in Denver 
I am to
reflect upon myself 
absent from distraction 
much like the 
hermit tucked inside 
of a cave
atop the mountain 
I have the 
mountain part handled 
being a mile 
above sea level 
but the cave 
not so much 
for here I
enjoy the creature 
comforts of modernity
