NightEyes

In the distance 
I see lights
glowing twinkling showing 
those beneath closer
what to see
but anything beyond 
is lost forever 
then I turn 
and look down 
seeing your eyes 
looking at me 
and I wonder 
if they are 
the same as
those far off 
for their light 
draws my gaze
lower lower still 
until you disappear
