This is unsettling 
the recent trends
of both lacking 
curiosity in others 
and the prevalence 
of wanting to 
be passively entertained 
this lacks progress 
and a purpose 
as if society 
has come to 
a screeching halt 
as though the 
oil of mutual 
interest of empathy 
of concern and 
compassion that allowed
the gears to 
turn dried up 
leaving soulless husks
to wander about 
this now hellscape
that life in
2024 has become
