A mouse
once asked 
a lion
why does 
it bite

because said
the lion
to mouse 
besides roar
it’s what 
I do 

but said 
the mouse 
to lion
try purring 
it’s what 
mice like 

I will 
come near
a purr
but run
away from 
a roar
and never 
be bitten 
or smitten
