a young man 
who despite youth
despises the transactional 
nature of things 
nowadays including love 
how has this 
need for immediacy
replaced the need 
for someone’s forever 
he recently asked 
replying I said 
most I think 
have no wish
to build foundations 
but rather fill
the crumbling mortar 
with anything usable 
be it body
or even waste 
to fend off
the surging bloodlust 
of today’s desire
