Trumpet

And the trumpet 
smooth and throaty
it lulls and 
lifts squeals and 
soothes always questioning 
but never solving 
especially when paired 
painfully with Chopin
then it haunts 
and it heckles 
and sometimes heralds 
of new comings 
or welcomed goings
