Peacefully

It is quiet 
the lull or
eye or darkest
before the dawn 
but for me 
it is peace
that never leaves 
that brings this
one long pause 
it’s just here
like air or
light or wind
hardly ever noticed 
until someone gets 
in its way 
then the thing 
that’s standing there 
gets its attention 
but back to 
peace I’ll go 
for that’s where
home is now
