Carry on like 
nothing ever happened 
the gap which 
I minded now
becomes a chasm
stretching wider and 
deeper once able 
to step across 
now impossible to 
shout over and 
into and nothing 
to be heard 
and now nothing 
to be said 
just know that 
wherever you are 
deep down below 
or far on
the other side
