Smell

The smell lingers 
fragrance or aroma 
it hangs there 
veils of seduction 
or cobwebs haunt 
one drapes and 
the other hides 
because it’s fresh
it does beguile 
or maybe because 
it’s stale it
repels but sweep
aside I do 
looking for dessert 
or dirty dishes
