day one that 
follows a holiday 
is it Monday 
no it’s Tuesday 
what about tomorrow 
cars moan and 
growl in driveways 
hungover as those 
who drive them 
back to work 
the grind is 
loathsome the oil
of wine and 
revelry dried up
