Inside

I admit now
that I’d died
maybe not all 
but a portion 
and the rest
froze went dormant 
went into stasis 
and I operated 
this hollow carcass 
from deep inside 
as the world 
swirled around me 
I stay tucked 
deep down inside 
until a town
in some mountains 
took the time 
to look inside 
and say it’s 
okay you’re safe 
here it’s time 
to come home
