SafeHarbor (to You)

Awakened and sweating

Unable to shake

The demon ravens

From my minds

Canopy they roost

Hiding in dreams

Which linger like

The bitter taste

Of some pill

I am reminded

That my dreams

Can break through

My slumber like

Thieves’s flashlights searching

For my sanity

Finding they crush

Rip and steal

Leaving me empty

Hollow and weeping

Until I turn

And remember you

My one reality

Bringing me back

To my world

Once again safe

Unable to sleep

Watching you breathe

Slowing my heart

To beat yours

Peace at last

Comes to me

My one anchor

Amidst stormy seas

Mooring me you

In safe harbor

Flight (for Bean)

And like dishes

And cups and

Plates we threw

What we were

At each other

Breaking and splintering

Everything to shards

Amidst the heap

We knew then

That the Humpty

Dumpty of us

Lay at feet

Months then passed

We moved on

And now like

A boomerang that

We tossed we

Return better for

The flight than

The crashing landing

Of the dishes

That we were

Friendship

I have recently

Discovered friendship love

We trip over

Each other like

Floppy eared puppies

Or colts out

In the pasture

Like pinballs bouncing

And like limes

In a drink

We compliment others

Just like the

Moon can’t be

The moon without

The sun doing

It’s quiet part

OneMany

We are as

Important as a

Snowflake in a

Blizzard or a

Leaf in fall

A bud in

Spring or a

Drop in downpour

We are but

One in a

Deluge of others

Be the best

One thing in

Many inspire all

And show them

How to simply

Be the best

One of many

Billiards

I feel like

A billiard game

Setup and broke

Apart by ones

That look like

Me but have

Selfish purpose it

Aims and collides

Sending me sailing

Off others and

Out of play

Until all of

Me is spent

Then I’m silent

The game over

Then at once

Racked up again

And sent careening

Just like meteors
