Friendship returned to me 
again a letter undeliverable
rejected even before opened 
I think now that 
once crossed one can’t 
and should have thought 
but thinking was excused 
like counsel advising no 
dismissed as desire raged 
and pleasure rained down 
soaking and now understandably 
destroying everything that once 
was no I don’t 
want whatever it was 
before it was this 
for that is gone 
and this well this 
means nothing to me
