Not everyone wants 
the same thing 
and why it
takes me longer 
than most everyone 
to understand this 
must be stubbornness 
I am but
a petulant child 
expecting to get 
whatever I want 
but like two 
men building the 
same bridge from 
opposite sides of 
the vast canyon 
the middle to 
one is rarely 
ever the middle 
to the other
