Sting

And yesterday felt 
like a rubber 
band snapping back 
and surprising me 
leaving a sting
where hope should 
have been found 
things for me 
went as planned 
things with others
definitely did not 
and I stood
there feeling like 
a high school 
freshman after gym
having just been 
snapped with a 
towel by the 
seniors and wondering 
why do they 
have to do 
this to me
