Why are some 
like picking flowers 
while others are 
like sawing wood 
flowers are delicate 
and plucked easily 
arranged lovingly and 
slowly turned here
and turned there 
always finding sun
wood is hard
and knotted causing 
stops and starts 
wood is heavy 
and weighty dirty
difficult definitely challenging 
when we’re younger 
we pick flowers 
learning they die
but wood oh
wood once fallen 
discovers its beauty
