side to side
trying to meet
end to end 
I finally admit 
that I am 
a winter coat
bought thirty pounds 
ago and while 
still stylish will
simply never fit 
this my love 
is now us
we once did 
fit that is
we’re both now 
to each other 
something that just 
barely ever will
unless one or
both of us 
gets given away 
to someone else
