Rain in Hawaii

It’s raining
in Hawaii
locals say
it’s the gods
weeping
clouds hang
like snagged
balloons and
move quickly
through the
basin stopping
to drop ladels
of water on my
neighbors
curtains of rain
are drawn closed
here at home
